3 ON 3 Cancelled!

I am sorry to inform all of you that our 3 on 3 Hoopfest has been cancelled this year. We had to make a decision about this and decided the timing was not the best. Please watch for us again in the Fall or next Spring.

Congratulations to Jess Raab!

We all had the opportunity to watch Jess sign her letter of intent to play at Central Wyoming College. She has worked extremely hard to earn this and we are very proud of her!  Great job Jess!

Season Recap....

We didn't get the website updated during the season and I apologize.  Time gets moving and life gets crazy. We had a good season and ended the year with a 9-12 record, however we were much more successful than that number shows.  We entered region with a 4-3 record losing only to three very good teams. Our region is the toughest in the state and every single game was close!

In region we played in 6 overtime games. We won only two of those OT games but we were so close every game. We were competitive and did everything we could to give ourselves chances to win. Yes, we made mistakes, but we played with pride and we never gave up. 14 of our 21 games were decided in the last minute of the game.

The season was exhausting to say the least.

I am proud of our girls and the character they showed.

Our seniors led our team and did a great job being examples in practice each day. We are grateful for the mark they will leave on the Bruin basketball program.

Recruiting Night for ALL athletes!

There will be a recruiting night held at Mountain View on Thursday, December 6th at 7:00pm.   This meeting is for ALL athletes at MV. They will talk about the basics of recruiting and effective ways to be recognized as a high school athlete.

CLICK HERE  for the flyer for the event. It is free and is a great opportunity for athletes and their parents! Please mark your calendars and make sure you come on the 6th!

Game Program and Clothing Drive

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with their families!  I have received a few emails about our fundraisers and wanted to clarify a couple of things:

  • If you check the fundraising tab, I have posted a list of companies in the Provo/Orem area that would be good contacts for the game program. If you or your daughter would like to speak for one of those companies, shoot me a quick text or email and I will make a note of that on the website. Hopefully this gives each of the girls some more options.
  • Remember, all ad sales must be completed by December 7th, next Friday!
  • The clothing drive is still underway. We are meeting with the company tomorrow to discuss a final deadline. They will also distribute bags for the girls to fill. We are paid by the pound so please make an effort to collect some clothing. If you can store the clothes in your homes or in your garages until the deadline, that would be great. If this is not possible, let me know and we can make arrangements at the school.

Parent Meeting and Meet the Team Night

Just a quick reminder that we will be having our parent meeting on Thursday, November 15. The meeting will start at 5:45 and will end at about 6:30. We will be meeting in Coach Hunter's room just North of the Gym.  Please make an effort to attend as we will be discussing fundraising for the upcoming season, signing up for committees such as team mom, concessions, senior night, and team dinners, and discussing the season in general.  I am asking that at least one parent for each girl attends the meeting. If a parent is unable to attend, please send your daughter instead.

Following the meeting is our Winter Sport Meet the Team Night.  This is a really fun night where we introduce our teams to the student body and the fans. There are fun contests (hot dog eating contest, three point shooting contest, etc.) and a few scrimmages. All girls need to attend (as it is a night for them) and should wear their grey sweats with a Mountain View t-shirt.

I look forward to seeing all of you on Thursday!
